2013 Competition Categories
 
   

Black Transmen, Inc. Mr. & Ms. Black Transgender International Pageant contestants are scored in (5) categories : 35% Interview,

 20% Evening wear, 15% Presentation, 15% Beachwear, 15% Talent.

 

 
    35% Interviews:

As part of the duties of the Mr. & Ms. Black Transgender Pageant Royalty, you may be asked to appear at public engagements or respond to media interviews. Each Contestant will be credited for his/her interview skill set, personal style, motivation, grace, poise, humility and the ability to communicate verbally and in writing that is representative of the BTMI vision. Contestants should prepare for two types of interviews: Personal Interview & and Onstage Interview. The purpose of the personal interview competition is to assess:

1) Personality 2) Ability to Communicate 3) Answer Content 4) General Appearance. Contestants will earn points for Public Speaking Ability, Articulation, Composure, Overall Response, Attire.

 

 
   
20% Evening Wear:

As part of the duties of the Mr. & Ms. Black Transgender Pageant Royalty, you may be asked to appear or participate in formal black tie events. Each Contestant will be credited for his/her formal wear selection, how well it fits, how well it matches his/her overall qualities and how well the selection communicates the BTMI Vision in formal or evening environments. The purpose of the formal wear competition is to assess: 1) Selection of formal wear 2) Suitability of makeup 2) Suitability of hairstyle 3) Presentation of formal wear 4) General Appearance. Contestants will earn points for Elegance, Style, Grace, Professionalism, Overall Presentation.

 

 
   
15% Presentation:

As part of the Mr. & Ms. Black Transgender Pageant Royalty, you are viewed as an inspiration to others.  In this competition present to the audience a cultural icon that has influenced either yourself or society. Contestants will portray their icon in dress and gave a biographical speech or creative interpretation. Limited to (3)  Minutes. Each contestant will earn points for  1) Selection of presentation wear 2) Suitability of presentation 3) Creativity  4) Overall Presentation.

 

 
   
15% Beach Wear:

As part of the duties of the Mr. & Ms. Black Transgender Pageant Royalty, you may be asked to appear at pride events and celebrations on the beach or events that are beach in theme. Each Contestant will be credited for his/her beach wear selection, how well it fits, how well it matches his/her overall qualities and how well the selection communicates the BTMI Vision in beach environments. Contestants should prepare The purpose of the beach wear competition is to assess: 1) Selection of beach wear 2) Suitability of beach wear 3) Presentation of beach wear 4) General Appearance. Contestants will earn points for Style, Poise, Grace, Overall Presentation.

Talent Competition:

The talent category provides contestants an opportunity to showcase their entertainment talents and to provide the audience a chance to see contestants in a different view. Participating contestant will be judged for his/her entertainment ability through Lip-Sync, Live Vocal, and/or Other Entertainment. (4minutes with 2 minute setup time)Contestants will earn points for Choreography, Showmanship and Set Design, Choreography, Quality and , Value of Presentation as Entertainment.
